Vishay extends the life of 500V devices in snap-on aluminum capacitors to 5000 hours
Vishay Intertechnology has recently announced an extended service life for the 159PUL-SI series of snap-on aluminum capacitors, now rated for up to 5,000 hours at +105°C. These capacitors from Vishay BCcomponents are ideal for applications such as solar inverters, industrial motor control systems, and power supplies, offering long-lasting performance in high-temperature environments.
The 159PUL-SI capacitors come in a cylindrical aluminum housing with a pressure relief valve insulated by a blue sleeve. They are available in various sizes ranging from 22x25mm to 35x60mm, and they operate at voltages from 200V to 500V. With a ripple current rating of 2.80A, a maximum ESR of 150mΩ at 100Hz, and a maximum operating temperature of +105°C, these components are designed for reliable performance in demanding conditions.
These polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitors use a non-solid electrolyte, making them well-suited for smoothing, filtering, and energy storage in pulsed power applications. They are RoHS-compliant and feature a snap-on design with keyed polarity for easy installation.
