VR Network has learned that at the High-Tech Fair Construction Technology Special Exhibition Area, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development showcased cutting-edge innovations in the housing and construction sector, including prefabricated buildings and an affordable housing VR online room selection system. These exhibits drew significant attention from visitors and industry professionals alike.
In the prefabricated building exhibition area, staff members provided an engaging and informative experience for visitors using models and video presentations to explain the construction process. As one of China’s first demonstration cities for prefabricated construction, Shenzhen has been actively pushing forward reforms and addressing challenges. By leveraging quality brand strategies and EPC+BIM technology, the city has developed a unique model for prefabricated building development tailored to its own needs. Currently, prefabricated construction projects are spread across all districts of Shenzhen, with over 1.4 million square meters of completed projects. By 2020, the proportion of new buildings constructed using prefabrication is expected to exceed 20%.
The reporter then visited the VR online room selection area for affordable housing, where a crowd had gathered around a large screen demonstrating the VR system. This new intelligent service platform, recently launched by the Urban Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, uses VR technology to allow users to explore affordable housing options remotely. Through the internet, residents can now browse properties on both PC and mobile devices, experiencing 720-degree panoramic views and VR virtual reality tours. The system also supports real-time roaming, WeChat sharing, apartment display, and map navigation features. In the future, applicants will be able to familiarize themselves with the surrounding environment and layout of rental housing without visiting the site in person. They can also choose their preferred interior design styles online, enhancing their overall experience and making the house selection process more efficient and convenient.
