Look at the taillights and think that Lincoln has a new SUV. The MX5 standard is equipped with 1.4T and sells 100,000 yuan.

In recent years, Dongfeng has placed significant emphasis on the SUV market, launching numerous new models under its various sub-brands. However, the sales performance of Dongfeng's SUV lineup has been relatively modest, with only two models available. Despite this limited selection, both models are positioned in the higher end of the market. One of these models is the MX5, which represents the more affordable end of the brand. The overall styling of the MX5 is quite attractive, and its front fascia bears some resemblance to the iconic Lincoln brand. Perhaps due to this resemblance, it hasn't been an easy sell in China, where American-style SUVs haven't gained much traction. The MX5 is a medium-sized SUV with a length of 4.72 meters, slightly longer than the Volkswagen Tiguan L, which measures just under 4.7 meters. It comes standard with a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine producing up to 140 horsepower, comparable to the lower trim levels of other brands. The top-tier model features a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine instead of a turbocharged 2.0-liter option. Prices start at around 103,500 RMB, with the highest trim priced at 135,500 RMB. The rear design of the MX5 is particularly noteworthy, featuring taillights that strongly resemble those of a Lincoln vehicle. This resemblance is especially noticeable at night, making the MX5 easily mistaken for a new Lincoln SUV. Inside, the MX5 offers a surprisingly premium feel for a Dongfeng-branded vehicle. There are no hard plastics to be found; everything is wrapped in soft-touch materials and leather. While the design is modern and stylish, the technology and infotainment system lag behind competitors. Thanks to its 4.7-meter length, the MX5 provides ample space in the rear. Mid-level trims come with leather seats, offering a refined appearance. Standard features include rear air vents, three rear headrests, and a central armrest. Despite these appealing attributes, the MX5's sales have been hampered by its relatively high starting price. Although the product itself is excellent, the overall sales figures for Dongfeng's SUV lineup remain lackluster. Overall, the MX5 represents a commendable effort from Dongfeng, but it faces stiff competition in a crowded market segment.
