Dimension Launches Partner Program for VR/AR/MR

Stereoscopic 3D capture has become increasingly attractive to many content creators, and recently Dimension has launched a partnership program that enables developers to create new experiences using stereoscopic 3D capture technology.

The new partner program will provide selected companies, developers and start-ups with early access to the Windows Desktop, iOS and Android's Dimension Software Development Kit (SDK). Dimension invited applicants to join in becoming the first people to create VR, augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) using volume video.

Dimension said: "At present, there are an estimated 1 billion smartphones supporting AR, and Dimension's demand for mobile support is very strong. Today, we are pleased to be able to launch a partnership program that enables companies and creatives to develop richer AR experiences. The virtual character of the letter is at the core."

Participants in the program will receive AR and VR applications, preview Windows desktop, Oculus Rift, htc vive, iOS and Android sample collections. Includes tools, plug-ins and documentation needed to help developers create their own applications using Unity or Unreal Engine 4, and volume capture options for the experience.

Jeremy Silver, Digital Catapult’s CEO, commented, “This is a wise move for Dimension and represents a new stage in their collaboration with the Microsoft Mixed Reality team. The partnership program is to allow the company to collaborate with the studio and develop more changes. An important new approach to game content and applications. The ability to include real numbers in content for cross-platform use will enable developers to create applications for a variety of industries."
