China's image sensor research and development capabilities improved

Changchun Changguang Chenxin Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., established by the Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012, has successfully developed several high-performance CMOS image sensors over the past three years, which has enhanced the independent research and development capabilities of China's image sensors. On the 10th of this month, Chenxin displayed a 150 million-pixel CMOS image sensor, which can be used for high-resolution imaging of large targets, high-end industrial inspections, and ancient painting identification.

The person in charge, Dr. Xinyan Wang, also showed a black-and-white photograph taken with a 150 million-pixel CMOS image sensor, with a long side of 30,000 pixels and a short side of 5000 pixels.

According to statistics, Canon is also investing billions of pixels in its research and development. And OmniVision (Hawe Technology), which has the second largest market share, has accepted the acquisition of the Chinese consortium in May of this year and will complete the integration in the third quarter of next year as soon as possible.
