Circuit function

The role of the 8-bit DA converter is to convert the digital signal in the digital system to a recorder or XY monitor. This circuit consists of inexpensive components.

Since the C-MOS DA converter is used, both the positive and negative reference voltages can be input, and if an AC signal is input to the reference voltage input terminal, digital modulation can be performed.

Circuit working principle

IC1 is a latch used to lock digital data, holding data with the rising edge of the clock signal. The AD7523 is an 8-bit DAC consisting of a thin film ladder resistor and a C-MOS switch, which performs multiplication of the reference voltage VE and digital data. Current-voltage conversion is performed by the OP amplifier A1. The output voltage EO is (digital data / 256) * VE, and the digital data range is a binary number from 0 to 255.
