In terms of specifications, KS (Korea Standard) has successively formulated LED lighting product specifications such as LED traffic signals from 2002 to 2008, and in 2009, developed power converter built-in/external LED lights, replacement and fixed 8 kinds of LED lighting product specifications such as LED lighting.
In terms of product certification, South Korea's LED lighting is now based on KC (Korea Certification) mark, KS and high-efficiency energy equipment, (Korea High-efficiency Energy Equipment, hereinafter referred to as KE) certification.
Among them, KC mark is mandatory; KS and KE are non-mandatory product certification standards, and KS not only regulates LED lighting product specifications, but also implements non-mandatory product certification system. The KS and KE certification will help manufacturers to highlight the quality and performance of their LED lighting products, and is the standard for the general South Korean public machine procurement requirements, and the energy efficiency benchmarks such as luminous efficiency, KE is stricter than KS. In order to highlight the performance of LED lighting products, the Korean factory is still relatively active in obtaining KE certification.
