Lighting companies encounter anti-dumping investigations involving a large number of enterprises involved - anti-dumping of lamps, anti-dumping in India

"India's anti-dumping investigation has come again. This time it is the turn of energy-saving lamps. We can't repeat the mistakes that the energy-saving lamps were imposed on the EU's high anti-dumping duties five years ago." Guangdong Provincial Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Office held a lawsuit against the enterprises involved in the case in Foshan yesterday. At the meeting, a number of enterprises involved in the Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan and other regions attended the meeting. The relevant person in charge of the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau of Foshan called on the enterprises involved in the case to actively respond.

The person in charge of the Policy and Regulation Department of the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau of Foshan said that India is the developing country that initiated the most anti-dumping against China. The anti-dumping investigation time is urgent, and the responding enterprise must submit the questionnaire reply and defense opinions within 40 days. Taking into account the important position of Foshan energy-saving lamp manufacturing industry, this coordination meeting was urgently arranged in Foshan.

Many Chinese companies involved

On August 29, the General Administration of Anti-Dumping of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued a notice requesting an anti-dumping investigation against compact fluorescent lamps imported from China, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Just one day later, on August 30, India officially filed an anti-dumping case against China's energy-saving lamps, and investigated companies that exported directly or indirectly through foreign trade companies to export products to India during the period from April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007.

“The information conveyed by the indictment is very clear, that is, it is necessary to crowd out Chinese enterprises in the Indian market,” said Wang Lei, an adviser to the WTO Affairs Center of Guangdong Province. “The scope of the indictment is very broad for the enterprises involved in the case. There will be a lot of businesses."
