Omron began producing first-line automated robots in Shanghai

Recently, Omron began producing robots that can produce first-line automation in Shanghai. Previously the company was only produced in Japan and the United States. Due to the shortage of manpower in China, the problem of high labor costs has become more serious, and the demand for automation of automobiles and electromechanical manufacturers has increased. In addition to producing robots, Omron will also increase the capacity of the sensor by a factor of two to obtain relevant requirements.

Omron will produce "multi-joint robots" for picking up products and components in China. It plans to produce about 100 units per month. Previously, the company has been producing in Kyoto Prefecture and California. This time, we started production in China and strive to build robots that meet customer requirements.

In addition, Omron will invest 1 billion yen in Shanghai to renovate existing plants and increase production of sensors for the factory. We will strive to increase the monthly capacity of “proximity sensors” that use light and magnetism to sense products delivered on the production line by 2020 to 1.7 million units by 2020. It is expected to be used in automobile factories and electronic parts factories.

In China, the market for control equipment for factory automation is growing at a rate of 20-30% per year. Omron plans to increase the current consolidated sales of approximately 860 billion yen to 1 trillion yen by 2020, and the factory automation related equipment and health care business as the core of growth.
