MediaTek held a press conference for MT6589 media in Shenzhen and Taipei for the first time last week. The terminal products will be listed one after another in the first quarter of next year and will be locked at 1000~1500. The middle and high-end market for RMB (approximately RMB 4,700 to 70,050) is optimistic internally. MT6589 will account for 30% of the total shipments of smart-phone chips in the next year.

Among them, TLC's Young series mobile phone Y900 is expected to be the first smart phone equipped with MT6589, and will be the first to be listed. As far as Chinese mobile phone manufacturers such as Leo and Jayu Yutong have also announced that they will adopt MT6589, new products are expected to come out one after another early next year.

Chinese mobile phone makers such as Lenovo, ZTE, and Jinli will also promote smart phones with MT6589 in the first quarter of next year. As handset makers launch new machines, they will drive the shipment of MediaTek smart phones to coincide with next year's shipment. Continued substantial growth momentum.

Zhu Shangzu stated that MediaTek’s internal forecast shows that China’s smart phone shipments will reach 180 million to 200 million this year, and will grow to more than 300 million next year. The legal person estimated that if MediaTek shipments of smart phone chips exceed 110 million units this year and the market share exceeds 5-60%, shipping will have the opportunity to challenge 200 million units next year, which is a significant increase from this year.

Contribution of gross margin will appear

With the rapid increase in the proportion of MT6589 shipments starting next year, which has a positive effect on gross margins, Gu Dawei, chief financial officer of MediaTek, once said that in the initial stage of new product launches, price pressure is relatively small and gross margin is expected to be better than the average value. To observe the market competition situation, legal persons believe that MT6589 will start heavy volume as soon as the second quarter of next year, and will gradually show its contribution to the performance and gross profit margin.
