Zhou Mingjun said that although the LED industry boom in 2013 is still conservative, it is expected that the global low-cost direct-lit LED TV market penetration rate will be as high as 50% in 2013, especially Samsung's low-cost direct-selling. LED TV will account for 70% of its overall LED TV product line, so it is expected that the low-cost direct-lit LED TV is expected to become the main estuary of upstream LED chip suppliers in 2013.
Zhou Mingjun further pointed out that, unlike the initial stage of market development, the demand for high-current LED chips by low-cost direct-lit LED TV brands will increase significantly in 2013 to reduce the number of LED chips used and achieve the goal of reducing the size and cost of backlights.
