In the process of digitization, high-definition video and audio usually produce a large amount of data per second. Real-time transmission and synchronization between video and audio often puts high-speed data networks under heavy load – so many applications require fiber-optic video.

The closed-circuit television (CCTV) video signal using the color video baseband system (CVBS) will first be digitized by sampling and analog-to-digital conversion. Multi-channel digital audio / video signals will be converted into high-speed bit streams by digital multiplexing technology, which is usually processed by FPGA. The following serial (SerDes) and fiber optic modules can be used as interface devices between the power grid and the fiber optic network. Most of today's mainstream devices use 10-bit or 8-bit resolution data converters, and the corresponding sampling frequency is about 20MHz. In general, when the weighted signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 65dB, the differential gain is less than 1%, and the differential phase is less than 1 ?, the best system performance can be achieved.

Typical kernel subsystems include:

High-speed amplifier: Provides signal conditioning and excellent filtering functions, designed to achieve high signal integrity and low distortion.

Data converter: Provide high SNR, SFDR data conversion and retention between the analog and digital domains.

Serializer / deserializer (SerDes): Used for high-speed full-duplex point-to-point data transmission.

Signal integrity and low distortion are critical to ensure the transmission of high-quality video signals over long distances. Texas Instruments (TI) offers a wide range of high-performance analog and digital products for this application.
