As with the measurement of weight and temperature, the selection of the humidity sensor must first determine the measurement range. Except for meteorology and scientific research departments, temperature and humidity measurement and control generally do not require full humidity (0-100% RH) measurement.

â‘¡, select measurement accuracy

The measurement accuracy is the most important index of the humidity sensor. For every percentage point increase, it is a step or even a grade for the humidity sensor. Because different precisions are to be achieved, their manufacturing costs vary greatly, and their selling prices vary widely. Therefore, users must be tailored, and should not blindly pursue "high, precise, sharp".

If the humidity sensor is used at different temperatures, the indication must also consider the effect of temperature drift. As we all know, relative humidity is a function of temperature, and temperature seriously affects the relative humidity in a given space. The temperature changes by 0.1 ℃. A humidity change (error) of 0.5% RH will be generated. If it is difficult to achieve constant temperature in the use occasion, it is not appropriate to propose too high humidity measurement accuracy.

In most cases, if there is no precise temperature control method, or the measured space is unsealed, an accuracy of ± 5% RH is sufficient. For local spaces that require precise control of constant temperature and constant humidity, or where humidity changes need to be tracked and recorded at any time, choose a humidity sensor with an accuracy of more than ± 3% RH.

The accuracy requirement of more than ± 2% RH may be difficult to achieve even with a standard humidity generator that calibrates the sensor, not to mention the sensor itself. Relative humidity measuring instruments, even at 20-25 ° C, are still very difficult to achieve an accuracy of 2% RH. The characteristics given in the product data are usually measured at normal temperature (20 ℃ ± 10 ℃) and in clean gas.
