First of all, the development of the semiconductor lighting companies in China needs to be strengthened. In the sampling inspection of the semiconductor lighting national demonstration projects organized by the National Development and Reform Commission, except for the “three indexes” of “structure”, “climbing distance and clearance”, and “surge”, the qualification rate is 100%. Other indicators have different degrees of failure. The rate, of which the "mark" is only 4%, has been ignored by many companies.

Second, the performance of semiconductor lighting products needs to be improved. According to the data on the maintenance rate of tracking and inspection of three ministries and commissions demonstration projects, the "3000-hour luminous flux maintenance rate of the product" in the "Technical Requirements for Testing and Acceptance of Semiconductor Lighting Product Demonstration Projects (2010)" is 96%, and four quarters of the actual field surveys ( About 3600 hours, the average luminous flux maintenance rate is only 90%, and the lowest is only 78%, which is far below the measured value of the product. There is even a single quarter (900 hours) of luminous flux attenuation of 25%. All data are lower than expected.

Again, the product innovation capability is insufficient. Many products still remain in the stage of imitating traditional lighting forms such as tube lamps and bulb lamps. These forms are not the future direction of semiconductor lighting. Semiconductor lighting also needs to develop more creative products based on its own characteristics.

Fourth, companies need more understanding of lighting applications. At present, the products produced by many companies are not conducive to the selection of designers, or the product parameters provided by the company to designers are incomplete, so that designers do not understand the products, and the products between different companies have not been able to form standardized production. Product market is not standardized, the product cost is not high, all hinder the promotion and application of semiconductor lighting products.

Fifth, many designers are not familiar with semiconductor lighting products and there are some doubts. But semiconductor lighting has the advantages of small power, small size, and arbitrary combination; light concentration, high peak light intensity; flexible control, fast response, and variable power; rich and vivid color, dynamic full-color image control, and other advantages are very suitable for lighting designers. use. In the future application promotion process, companies need to strengthen communication with designers, give full play to their advantages, learn from each other and create more excellent engineering design cases.

Finally, there are still some key issues to be studied in the field of semiconductor lighting, such as Blu-ray hazards, visual comfort issues, color rendering issues, and the effects of dimming on color temperature and color rendering index.
