Pay attention to LED detection to achieve smooth product sales

With the continuous advancement of LED manufacturing technology and the development of new materials, its application range is continuously expanding. LED lighting products, especially LED lamps, have developed rapidly in recent years due to their advantages in terms of life span, energy saving, high reliability, and low pollution. The impact on people's daily lives is also increasing, and the market has great potential.

The LED industry is a high-tech industry and it is an industry that is encouraged by environmental protection, energy conservation, and emission reduction policies. Therefore, it has received extensive attention from various governments. In recent years, the semiconductor lighting industry has developed rapidly. The United States, Europe, and Asia have been systematically deployed from various national and regional levels. The Chinese government officially launched the "National Semiconductor Lighting Project" in 2003. After nearly a decade of efforts, China's semiconductor lighting industry has begun to take shape, with high-speed development, rushed into the world's top three foundation. In September of this year, Premier Wen Jiabao presided over the executive meeting of the State Council and reviewed and adopted in principle the Decision of the State Council on Accelerating the Cultivation and Development of Strategic Emerging Industries. Semiconductor lighting was among them. Semiconductor lighting has become a global opportunity. This period is now a good time for the development of China's LED lighting industry. However, at the same time, with the continuous development of the LED industry and the continuous expansion of its application fields, governments around the world have begun to formulate laws and regulations related to LED and regulate the LED market. For LED companies, in order to achieve smooth sales of products, it is necessary to strengthen the collection of laws and regulations, analyze their objectives and accurately understand their technical requirements, and conduct in-depth studies to formulate countermeasures.

National regulations

According to China's mandatory product certification system (CCC) requirements, all indoor displays and lamps belonging to the CCC certification catalogue sold in the Chinese market must be CCC certified and affixed with the CCC certification mark. At present, the LED products involved in the CCC certification mainly include: LED indoor display; fixed general-purpose lamps with LED as the light source, such as LED fluorescent lamps; portable lamps with LED as light source, such as LED lamps; and embedded with LED as light source Lamps, such as LED downlights, spotlights, etc.

United States: The United States is one of the most developed regions in the global LED industry and also the largest export market in the country. The United States has always been a world leader in the formulation of LED standards. In addition to the well-established standards for safety and electromagnetic compatibility, The American Electrical Manufacturers Association and the Lighting Association of North America have also formulated requirements and test methods for electrical, breadth, and color based on the characteristics of LED light sources. In addition, the "Energy Star" program in the United States also rapidly promotes energy efficiency standards for semiconductor lighting products to increase their luminous efficiency and related performance. The main certifications for exports to the North American market are UL, ETL, FCC and ENERGY STAR (Energy Star).

EU: For LED lighting products, the most important thing is to meet the European mandatory requirements for lamps and lanterns in order to successfully enter the EU market. Mainly include LVD formulation, EMC directive, energy efficiency requirement (ErP directive), environmental protection requirement (RoHS & WEEE directive).

Japan: LED lighting products must meet the requirements of the “Electrical Appliance Safety Law” and related regulations when entering the market. Current mandatory requirements for export to the Japanese market mainly include: If the control device is external, it must comply with J61347-2-13 "General and Safety Performance Requirements for LED Control Devices", and be affixed with diamond PSE mark after passing; LED lamps also need Satisfy the requirements of J55015 "Limits and Test Methods for Radio Disturbance of Electrical Lighting and Similar Equipment."
